Surrounded by rolling parkland, mature woodland and the charming historic Wynyard Estate, the golf club is located in the North East of England, about 10 minutes from the cities of Middlesbrough and Hartlepool, in County Durham.

The teaching and practice facilities at the LGA Wynyard provide an unrivalled blend of space and facilities, where nothing is left to chance. Like all of our other golf academies, there is a team of highly qualified LGA Certified instructors ready to help you learn how to play better golf.

Considered a center of excellence by golfers far and wide, our international golf academy at Wynyard features:

  • Double-sided driving range
  • Multiple putting greens and chipping/pitching stations
  • Covered teaching bays
  • Short game practice area

The large country house of the Wynyard Estate was the home of the aristocratic Vane-Tempest-Stewart family, who often entertained guests like Charles Dickens, Disraeli, Sir Robert Peel, Churchill, King Edward VII, Elizabeth II and ‘regular’ the Duke of Wellington. Built in 1230, today this illustrious estate is a captivating four-star hotel where you can relax and unwind after a challenging and exciting day of golf instruction.

Locally, County Durham offers a rich cultural experience. Historically a farming and mining settlement, the region has undergone significant regeneration. Local attractions, such as castles and cathedrals, local breweries, museums and more make it a popular tourist destination.
