A keen golfer whilst at school, JD’s passion for the sport continued and he graduated in Professional Golf Management at Ferris State University in Michigan. During this time he learned and experienced all aspects of golf business and had five semesters of internships based at different golf courses in U.S.Following his graduation in 2000 he worked as an Assistant at Boulder Pointe and became head professional there after 2 years. JD also found the time to play the Northern Florida Tour and Pepsi Tour during the winter. This position was followed by a 2 year placement at Redtail G C in Oregon where his focus was on teaching and club fitting.
JD became a PGA Class A member in March 2005 and successfully passed the PGM (GPTP) program and final interview. He moved back to Korea in 2006 after 12 years in the U.S. and joined DLGA Woo Jeong Hills in September.
