Meet David Leadbetter

For most golfers, David Leadbetter will require no introduction. Internationally recognised as the world’s leading golf instructor, his coaching methods have quite literally revolutionised the game.

David’s influence on golf extends to the very highest level. His contribution to the success of Nick Faldo has entered into golfing legend, and his client list, past and present, features many of the world’s leading players, including Ernie Els, Michelle Wie, Justin Rose, Charles Howell III, Ty Tryon, Ian Poulter, Nick Dougherty, Per-Ulrik Johansson, Aaron Baddeley and Mark McNulty.

David began his career in golf playing on the European and South African tours. It became clear, however, that his first love was teaching the techniques of golf, as opposed to playing the game itself, and he was soon to spend more time instructing than competing.

His natural talent for communication and analysis, along with a deep empathy for his students’ needs, was quickly recognised, and his services as a coach have been in high demand ever since. Now, 15 years into a legendary career as the world’s foremost golf teacher, he leads a worldwide team of certified professional instructors at DLGA’s many international sites.

As well as being one of the most quoted experts in the history of the game, David is a regular contributor to television’s Golf Channel, and is senior instructional editor for Golf Digest and Golf World magazines. He continues to make as many stops on the PGA Tour as any pro golfer, and remains on-call 24/7 for his students.

Originally from Worthing in Sussex, England, David now lives with his wife Kelly (an LPGA Tour Professional), their sons Andy and James and their daughter Hally at Lake Nona in Orlando, Florida.
